Many of his books have been updated and revised over the years, but the Dr has always kept his original ideas the same. If you are looking for recipes you may consider the companion book, “The Quick and Easy New Diet Cook Book” Not every review regards the Atkins Diet favorably and like everyone, he does have his critics, especially from those who worry about the menu and the high protein content in this diet.

The Atkins diet is divided into four phases, induction, continuing weight loss, before maintenance and maintenance for the rest of your life.

If you are wondering what results you can achieve from the Atkins Diet, read on:

At first, because you are restricting your carb input, your body starts burning its own fat for energy.  When considering any products for weight loss, this will be your main goal.

The main problem with any diet is obsessing over food. Very often you can think about nothing else, but what time you will next eat and how little it will be.  This is why so many diets fail, as no one feels happy when they are starving.

However with the Atkins Diet there is no hunger between meals. This is because your blood sugar levels do not fluctuate as they can with other diets, so you should also feel more energized. Resulting in an overall improvement of health.

The Atkins diet flushes toxins from your body.  When you combine this with the fact that you blood sugar levels remain stable, it is easy to see why some ailments can be alleviated. Things like depression, fatigue, headaches, muscular or joint pain start to go away. Additionally blood pressure and cholesterol levels improve, leading to further better all round health.
