Can I Eat Fast Food on A Healthy Diet Plan?
A question many people ask is whether they can incorporate fast foods in a healthy diet plan, when they are attempting to lose weight. If you are shaking your head at this suggestion, you may be surprised to know that the answer is yes, as long as you practice portion control and make wise meal choices.
A healthy diet plan can be both quick to prepare and healthy, and stopping off at a fast-food restaurant occasionally, will do no harm, as long as you choose wisely.
You can start by choosing a healthier side dish, or why not have a jacket potato and a side salad, with a low-fat dressing, rather than chips. Instead of eating a calorie packed sweet, choose a yogurt or fresh fruit option. Baked potato chips, steamed rice and corn on the cob can all be incorporated into a healthy diet plan
When choosing a salad, ask them to leave off the extra’s, such as croutons, cheese and bacon bits and avoid salads topped with breaded chicken, deep-fried shells or other fried, high calorie toppings. Replacing your normal salad dressing with a low-fat or fat free one greatly reduces your calorie count.
A healthy diet plan should not include fried foods, as these are not only high in fat, but also calories. Why not choose the grilled option instead? Roasted or grilled lean meats, such as beef, ham, chicken or turkey breast will fit into a healthy diet plan, without losing any of the flavors.
I would always advise eating in a restaurant that serves low calorie options, but if this is not possible, make sure you have the smallest portion available, or order half a sandwich. If you have chosen a burger establishment, remember many of the large burgers contain up to seventy grams of fat and over a thousand calories. Choose a children’s burger to fit in with your healthy diet plan, as these have between two and three hundred calories. Going without the onion rings and French fries, reduces your calorie intake, by a further three hundred calories.
When on a healthy diet plan, watch what you drink, as many soda type beverages and shakes have a very high calorific value, choose the diet version, mineral water or unsweetened ice tea. You can achieve your goals, even when you eat at a fast food restaurant, you just have to focus on portion control and make wise menu choices.
