How to Make Diet Shakes
The weight loss industry makes millions of dollars, every year, as the main aim for most is achieving a healthy body weight, but you can save your self a great deal of money, if you learn how to make diet shakes for your self.
Learning how to make diet shakes will not only save you money, but also give you more control, over flavor, fat and sugar content, plus vitamin and mineral content. There’s no need to drink the same boring flavors each day, as when you know how to make diet shakes, the combinations are endless.
All you need is a food processor or a blender, fresh fruits and vegetables, organic is always best, otherwise you will have to wash thoroughly to remove pesticide residue. I recommend a Milton solution, nine parts of water to one of Milton.
Now you have all your fruit washed and ready, I will tell you how to make diet shakes. Firstly cut the fruit into medium sized chunks, place the fruit into processor or blender and blend for a few minutes, you can add some juice or ice cubes if you wish. However you need to be careful with you choice of juice, as some can be high in calories, due to the sugar content.
When experimenting with diet shakes, you may also like to add some protein powder, or another vitamin or mineral supplement, but basically this depends on your fitness or weight loss goals.
If you are interested in making your own diet shakes, remember there is no right or wrong fruit to add, as it is all down to individual taste, however I would like to leave you with my favorite recipe.
I use sixteen ounces low fat milk to which I add two scoops of whey protein powder (this boosts your immune system and feeds your muscles). I blend these together for twenty seconds. To this I add one cup of mixed berries, whatever you enjoy, but remember the darker the berry, the more antioxidants it contains, blueberries are excellent. You can also add some ice at this stage.
I then like to add a large spoon of virgin coconut oil, this not only gives a great coco nutty flavor, but also has many health benefits, and increases your metabolic rate, so you lose weight naturally. The final ingredient, a teaspoon of flaxseed oil, which is rich in omega 3, then blend all the ingredients together, pour into tumbler, and enjoy.
