Eats Slowly, Lose Weight More Quickly

There is a strong positive correlation between rate of eating and body weight. People who eat slower tend to eat less and weight less. The slower we eat, then the less food it takes to get us full. The generally stated reason for this fact is that the feeling of satiety comes from our brain and doesn’t really come from our stomach. It takes about 20 minutes for our brain to register that we are full after eating before our body is recognize of this fact. If we eat slowly, we have time to realize we’re full, and stop on time. If we eat fast, we can continue eating past the point where we’re full. Then we will continue to eat which is not only a bad habit but is also likely to see us eat an extra 100 to 200 calories per meal.
There are a few ways that can make us can eat more slowly. First, tell ourselves we are going to do it. Make the effort and don’t expect to finish before others. Chat and talk while we are eating. Chew our food for longer and put down our knife and fork while we are chewing. Remember that eats slowly, lose weight more quickly.
